Politics and Music: The Age of Genius

Dr. Christy Thomas will place the Thirty Years’ War in its historical context—why did it occur and what was its lasting impact?

The Thirty Years’ War (1618-1648) changed the map of Europe and the minds of its citizens forever. Over the three decades, the fighting became less about religion and more about who would govern Europe. Ultimately, the conflict transformed the face of Europe and the role of religion in nation states. To help the audience grasp the impact of the conflict, PBE will place the Thirty Years War in its historical context - why did it occur and what was its lasting impact?
