June is fast approaching, and with it Classical Uprising’s 2024 Portland Bach Experience (PBE). Our fabulous line-up of musicians is coming to town and we are looking for hosts to house them for varying lengths of stays between June 5 and June 17. You do not need to host for the entire time - any availability you have may be helpful!
Housing our artists with local families is essential to the success of the PBE festival. Providing our artists with a private, safe space ensures that they can perform their best and take advantage of all that Maine has to offer during their stay.
If you have not hosted an artist before, it is a special way to experience the festival. You get to know these musicians not as artists on the stage, but as people. Our artists have international careers and many are GRAMMY nominees; it is great fun to get an inside look into this elite world. You can have as much or as little contact with your artist as you wish. Some hosts just leave out clean sheets while others end up attending the after parties or finding a new running buddy.
What do I need to provide?
A home in Portland, Brunswick, or the surrounding towns
A fully furnished private bedroom and bathroom (shared bath is fine, but private is preferable)
Wifi
Clean linens
Kitchen privileges - access to light breakfast, or breakfast options, is encouraged
***Hosts are not responsible for artist transportation***
What do I get?
Each host will receive 2 complimentary tickets to a PBE concert.
