Welcome to the Portland Bach Experience

We tear down barriers and challenge preconceived notions about classical music by offering immersive events, interactive educational programs, and intimate concerts at our annual June festival. Meet our Artistic Director

Emily Isaacson

Dr. Emily Isaacson launched Portland Bach Experience in 2017 to challenge preconceived notions about where and how we experience world-class music by bringing it back into social spaces and people’s everyday lives.

One of only a handful of female conductors in the country, she was recently named the “Maine Artist of the Year” by the Maine Arts Commission and one of “50 Mainers Leading the State” by Maine Magazine.
