Molly Yuko McGuire

Molly Yuko McGuire is a mezzo-soprano whose love for early music, concert music, new music, might only be rivaled by her love of trivia. Having recently graduated with a Master’s Degree in Music from Yale School of Music, McGuire is eager to share her passion for vocal chamber music, in its many forms.

Over the past year, McGuire has been unraveling the mysteries of baroque compositions by Elizabeth Claude Jacquet de la Guerre and Salomone Rossi. Her spirited performances with the Boston-based ensemble Eudaimonia have earned her applause and probably a few speeding tickets for racing through some rapid baroque tempos! McGuire is equally at home in the world of contemporary music, having premiered numerous new pieces on the New Music New Haven concert series.

McGuire has also enjoyed the privilege of being a featured concert soloist in several notable performances. Over the past year, she's had the joy of singing alto solos in J.S. Bach’s Weihnachts-Oratorium, under the direction of David Hill, and embodying the role of Amore Terrano in Antonio Caldara’s Maddalena ai Piedi di Cristo under the direction of Stephen Stubbs.

McGuire’s artistic identity is deeply connected to expanding the reach and understanding of classical vocal chamber music. She is continually seeking ways to engage audiences in a broader conversation about this evolving genre. Her non-musical escapades include braving the chilly embrace of open waters and becoming the reigning champion of trivia nights with friends.
