Na’ama Lion

Na’ama Lion is well known as a versatile performer on early flutes. She has performed with the Handel and Haydn Society, Boston Baroque, Jerusalem Baroque Orchestra, Arcadia Players, Grand Harmonie, Sequentia, and many more. She is a committed performer of new music and plays with the crossover group Rumbarroco. She has studied historical flutes in Israel, the Netherlands, and the U.S., and she holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from Boston University. She teaches at the Longy School of Music, directs a chamber music program at Harvard College, and has recently joined the faculty of the Early Music program at the University of North Texas. Na’ama teaches online classes and summer workshops for Amherst Early Music. Recordings on Harmonia Mundi, Telarc, private labels.
