Sebastian Jerosch

Sebastian Jerosch is a Maine-based freelance trombonist and music educator. Over the past thirty years he has appeared regularly in performances with numerous organizations throughout Maine, NYC, and the New England region including the Bangor and Portland Symphonies, Portland Opera, Handel and Haydn Society, Maine Music Society, Portland Ballet Orchestra, Bronx Opera, Maine State Music Theatre, Acadia Brass, and Al Corey’s Big Band. In 2012 Sebastian was a featured soloist with the Colby Symphony and he has been teaching trombone on the faculty of Colby College since 2001. He also taught at Bates and the University of Maine at Augusta. In summer Sebastian is a frequent guest performer at Maine’s renowned music festivals such as the Bowdoin International Music Festival, the Atlantic Music Festival, and the Conductor’s Retreat at Medomak. He has also performed at the Nova Scotia Music Festival and the Lincoln Center Chamber Society. Sebastian earned a Bachelor of Music from Mannes under the tutelage of David Taylor and Per Brevig. He also holds a Bachelor of Art in Architecture from the University of Maine at Augusta and received a Master of Architecture from Boston Architectural College. Alongside life as a musician Sebastian is involved in the fields of Architecture and construction through his masonry and landscape design business. He resides in Yarmouth, Maine, with his wife, their three children, and several pets.
