Nina Andersen

Nina is a graduate of the USM School of Music with degrees in Music Education and Clarinet Performance. Her professional training on clarinet and saxophone has been with Dr. Thomas Parchman, Principal Clarinetist of the Portland Symphony, Dr. William Wreszien of the New England Conservatory, Karen Beacham, Jonathan Cohler and Bill Street. She studied conducting with Dr. Peter Martin.

Professional performances include classical, jazz, musical theatre, and chamber music with a variety of groups in Maine: Portland Rossini Club, Maine State Ballet Orchestra, Maine State Music Theatre, the Edith Jones Project, Lyric Theatre, Augusta Symphony Orchestra and other freelance work.

Nina served as the Artistic and Music Director for the Maine POPS Concert Band from 1997 to 2016, is the Program & Music Director of the New England Adult Music Camp and founded and directs the Southern Maine New Horizons Band based in Portland, Maine.
